I graduated from Pomona College, a wonderful liberal arts college in Southern California, as a double major with degrees in Mathematics and English. I am currently a Research and Data Analyst for Kitsap Transit.
As a math major, I was naturally drawn to working in data analytics because of my experience with data science and my affinity for statistics. As a Data Analyst Intern with Parks Tacoma, I had the opportunity to work on many exciting projects, such as creating a comprehensive Story Map for their summer recreational programming, mapping all pools in Tacoma, and developing additional fun web map applications.
The GIS projects I worked on at Parks Tacoma allowed me to appreciate the exciting power of combining geospatial and traditional data analytics (in more ways than shamelessly being a geography nerd). I have continued to find my geospatial data analyst mindset to be an asset at Kitsap Transit. I have garnered technical experience with programs and languages such as Excel, R, Mathematica, PowerBI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, QGIS, and Esri suite products by working on GIS/data-driven projects for school, work, and personal curiosity.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling the world; I recently traveled all over Brazil and Portugal (I speak Portuguese). I am also a filmmaker and an avid chess fan.
